Hi, I’m Elizabeth Sluski, the owner of Shady River Farms Eco Grazing.

My love for farming and animals has always been at the center of my life. What started as a passion for raising livestock and caring for the land eventually grew into a business that allows me to combine both. I believe there is something special about working with nature instead of against it, and that’s exactly what inspired Shady River Farms Eco Grazing.

My faith in God guides the way I live and work, and I strive to honor Him through stewardship of the land, compassionate care for our animals, and serving others with honesty and integrity.

As a rancher and animal lover, I take great pride in the health and care of our goats and sheep. They aren’t just tools for the job, they are an important part of our family and the reason we are able to offer a natural, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional land clearing.

At Shady River Farms Eco Grazing, we help homeowners, farms, businesses, and communities reclaim overgrown areas, reduce fire hazards, and maintain their properties through targeted grazing. Watching our animals transform a piece of land while improving the environment is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Being a small family-operated farm means every customer matters to us. We value honesty, hard work, and treating people the way we’d want to be treated. Whether we’re working on a small backyard or a large property, our goal is to provide dependable service while caring for both the land and the animals that make it possible.

Thank you for supporting local agriculture and allowing us to share our passion with you. We look forward to helping you discover the benefits of eco grazing and showing that sometimes the best solutions are the natural ones.

Blessings,

Elizabeth Sluski

What we do

Our Focus Areas

Goats are nature’s ultimate brush-clearers! Their ability to navigate rugged terrain and consume a wide variety of vegetation makes them ideal for maintaining hard-to-reach or sensitive areas. Plus, their presence fertilizes the soil, enhancing its health for future growth.

WHAT WE DO

01

Fire Prevention & Mitigation

Protect your property from the devastating effects of wildfires. Our goats efficiently clear dry vegetation and underbrush, reducing fire hazards and creating defensible spaces.

About our goats

Why We Raise Kiko Goats

At Shady River Farms Eco Grazing, we proudly raise Kiko goats, a breed known for their hardiness, natural foraging ability, and exceptional maternal instincts. Originally developed in New Zealand, Kiko goats were bred to thrive with minimal intervention, making them one of the most resilient and efficient breeds available today.

Kiko goats are widely recognized as a premier meat goat breed because of their strong growth, sound structure, and ability to perform well in a variety of environments. We value these traits and are committed to producing healthy, functional animals that can thrive naturally while contributing to sustainable agriculture.

Their strong browsing instincts also make them ideal partners in our eco grazing program. Kikos naturally consume brush, vines, weeds, and invasive plants that many other livestock avoid, allowing us to provide environmentally friendly vegetation management without chemicals or heavy machinery.

Our herd is selected for sound genetics, good disposition, and overall performance. Whether they are improving overgrown landscapes or raising the next generation, our goats play an important role in the health and success of our farm.

Beyond their work in the field, our goats are an important part of our family. We believe good stewardship starts with caring for the animals entrusted to us, and our faith in God guides the way we manage our farm and serve others.

At Shady River Farms Eco Grazing, we are proud to raise quality Kiko goats and to use them in a way that benefits both the land and the community. We believe some of the best solutions come from working with God’s creation just as He designed it.

About our sheep

Why We Katahdin Cross Hair Sheep

At Shady River Farms Eco Grazing, we use and raise Katahdin cross hair sheep that are well-adapted to Florida’s climate and thriving on pasture-based management. Our flock combines the hardiness, parasite resistance, and strong maternal traits of Katahdin sheep with the added benefits of carefully selected crossbred genetics.

Because they are hair sheep, our animals naturally shed their coats and do not require shearing, making them a practical, low-maintenance choice for Southern farms. We focus on producing healthy, efficient sheep with sound structure, calm dispositions, and excellent growth for quality meat production.

Our sheep are raised with care, good stewardship, and a commitment to sustainable agriculture. Whether for homesteads, small farms, or commercial operations, we strive to provide productive animals that perform well in Florida’s challenging environment while honoring the values of faith, hard work, and responsible livestock management.
